Space Programing Analysis <br />(1998-2020) <br />A revised summazy of the county's space needs is included on the following page. All square <br />footages have been converted to "neY' square feet. <br />Definitions: <br />Programing far the space needs of Marion County has previously been reported using three <br />different terms.' They include net (useable) square feet, rentable square feet (rs fl and gross square <br />feet (gs~. A conversion formula is included in the assumptions below for conversion to rentable <br />and gross square footage. Net square footage (ns~ is defined as: <br />The space within the building walls devoted to personnel and/or furniture. It does not <br />include such things as stairs, elevators, main lobby, public restrooms, ducts and other <br />spaces that are considered common areas for all building tenants.2 <br />Assumptions: <br />The following assumptions have been used to calculate and project space and staffing needs for <br />table # 1 <br />1. Current space allocation based on temporazy office locations for Senator Block depts. <br />2. Groupings A-E,represents desired adjacencies <br />3. Current needs are based on 1998 (used far schematic design purposes) <br />4. No additional space needs are projected from 1998-2005 <br />5. 2% annual growth projected from 2006-2020 <br />6. Conversion from nsf to rentable = nsf x L 13% <br />7.
