<br />Seated Request for Bids for "PRE-CON-
<br />STRUCTION REMEDIAL AGTIVITIES" in
<br />regards to the Cou~thouse Square Pra

<br />High St. -NE, Salem, Oregon 97301-3670,
<br />until 3:00 PM Friday, September 22, 1997,
<br />and then will be publicly opened and
<br />read in Conference Room "B", 5th Floor,
<br />Marion County Courthouse 100 High St.
<br />NE, Salem, Oregon, 97301. Each bid shall
<br />be submitted in a sealed envelope plain-
<br />ly marked with the project and the name
<br />and business address of the contractor.
<br />Bids received after the time set for
<br />opening will not be considered. Bids may
<br />not be withdrawn aiter the time set for
<br />opening.
<br />Attention is calied to all provisions of
<br />the .Oregon Revised Statutes - Chapter
<br />279, Public Contracts ancJ Pu~chasing,
<br />Marion County Public Contrad Rules, and
<br />Oregon Administrative Rules. The Marion
<br />Courriy Board of Commissioners is the
<br />local public Contract Review Board.
<br />No bid will be received or considered
<br />by the County uniess the bid contains a
<br />statement by the contractor as a part of
<br />its ,proposal that the provisions of ORS
<br />279.350 or 40 U.S.C. 276a are to be.
<br />complied with.
<br />No prequalification is required for this
<br />proJ'ect.
<br />No bid proposal will be considered
<br />unless accompanied by a cashier's check,
<br />certified check or bid bond, payable to
<br />the Marion County Department of Gen-
<br />eral Services for an amount at least equal
<br />to ten percent (10%) of the aggregate
<br />amount of the bid proposal, which sum
<br />shall be forteited as fixed and liquidated
<br />damages should the bidder neglect or
<br />refuse to enter into a contract and pro-
<br />vide a suitable bond for the faithful per-
<br />formance of the work in the evenY the
<br />contract is awarded to him.
<br />Minority and disadvantaged business
<br />enterprises are encouraged to submit pro-
<br />posals.
<br />A mandatory pre-bid conference will be
<br />held on September 15, 1997 at 2:00 PM,
<br />Conference Room "B" 5th Floor, Marion
<br />County Courthouse, 100 High St. NE,
<br />Salem, Oregon 97301. Those interested
<br />in attending the pre-bid conference must
<br />make advance arrangements by contact-
<br />ing Marion Counry Risk Management at
<br />(503) 588-5294 no tater than 5:00 PM
<br />September 11, 1997.

<br />In compliance with ORS 279.029, con-
<br />tractors must state on their proposal j$$
<br />whether they are a resident or non-resi-
<br />dent contractor.
<br />~ Requirements concerning minimum
<br />hourly wage rates, hours of empbYment,
<br />overtime, etc., accompany the General
<br />Provisions and must be complied with.
<br />All applicable county insurance require-
<br />ments must be met.
