The costs <br />were then prorated to the departments and the MC Housing Authority in ratio to the square feet <br />they occupy. The remodel of the Courthouse 5~ floor and Franklin 1°` floor cost was <br />$45,225.18. <br />County departments total remodel expenses were $228,391.23. <br />County departments rent increases will be $225,777.72. <br />County departments total expenditures will be $454,168.95. <br />Lacking any agreement between Marion County and the Transit District as to the total allowable <br />reimbursement claim, it is appropriate to negotiate a maximum claim authorized for the county <br />to relocate departments due to the Courthouse Square construction. There are at a minimum <br />three options: <br />1) Allow Marion County all expenditures for relocating departments: <br />Movers $ 67,346.30 <br />Reimbursable expenses 454,168.95 <br />Tota1 $521,515.25 <br />2) Allow Mazion County a standard reimbursable of $10,000 per department plus moving <br />expenses: <br />Movers <br />Reimbursable expenses <br />Maximum $10,000 per department <br />Total <br />$67,346.30 <br />~;~s-as S7 ~9~,~3 <br />$~;~~'~iS~,1ySS 63 <br />. <br />~°/a~/y~ $~,i <br />~ ~~ <br />Note: The Relocation Act applicable to other tenants of the project are allowed a <br />maximum of $10,000 for relocation expenses. <br />3) Allow Marion County a negotiated maximum relocation claim. <br />Roger Hanna, the county's relocation agent indicated that a negotiated amount was an option <br />because there are no specific pre-project agreements between the two government agencies prior <br />to the claim being submitted. He also confirmed the formula for allowable relocation claim <br />option 2). In his letter of 7uly 31, 1997 the MC Housing Authority and State Archives were <br />included as county departments. . It has been determine their claims should be included in <br />tenant claims rather than county deparnnents. Neighbor to Neighbor is determined to be a <br />county department because the county pays the rent by funding agreement <br />Marion County Housing Authority's claim will be addressed in a sepa.rate memorandum. <br />reloco <br />
