The move off the Senator Block has been challenging
to all of us and we have successes because everyone has made every effort to
contribute to the project.
Congratulations on the reasonable settlements you were able to negotiate with
your tenants. Your invoices indicates you moved nine (9) tenants at $250 each
for a total cost of $2,250.
Marion County Housing Authority agreed to leave the apartment premises free
of subtenancies. The County had an expectation that fiuniture, garbage and
debris would be removed.
In order to expedite the availability of the property for contractors, General
Services negotiated removal of all personal property, debris and garbage with
Action Liquidators. Mr. Borchers provided labor to remove all materials from
the 2~, 3~, 4`~ floors and three basement storage rooms assigned to the
apartments. This gave Mr. Borchers entitlement to personal properry he
choose to claim and deposit unusable furniture/parts, debris and garbage into a
County provided dumpster. He filled two dumpsters from the apartments.
The third dumpster was filled from the basement storage azeas by community
service workers under the direction of Facilities Management staff. A fourth
dumpster was filled from other Senator basement areas by the same crew.
These areas were County responsibility. The County areas in the basement
were the last to be loaded into the dumpsters.
100 High Street NE, Room 5321 • Salem, Oregon 97301-3665
