_ ~
Kathleen Thorpe, Centurywest presented another group of billings for $195,000 in services.
Workorder #20 - Another contract to sign for $39,000 for anticipated management of abatement
(air monitoring - Monday's work). One issue: Jeff Smith submitted $20,000 bill in February, which
has not been paid. Centurywest also has contracts ready to sign for $75,000 -$100,000 which have
not been forwazded to Randy.
Work Order #21 - Foss Environmental did inspection months ago with $10,000 estimate for
removal of lights, freon, etc. Just submitted an update to their estimate for $44,000 to complete
work. Option: to provide list of materials (minus pricing) to Rex and let him bid or use Mazion
County maintenance or Dan's maintenance people to complete job at less expense.
Action: Ra.ndy to let Dan know how to proceed.
Item 7A - Chevron negotiations. Original estimate of 16 weeks at 8 hours day blown right through.
New work order shows 16 more weeks at time & materials (325 hours) @$29,000 estimate.
Statesman Joumal bid is 16 weeks also (150 hours) @$12,600 estimate. Need to work out deal
with Statesman and the good news is it may save us consulting fees.
Impacted soils #19 -$70,000 estimate. Mobil lab costs $1,700 per day to keep on site. With 2
months excavation expected, it is too expensive to justify expense during that timeframe. Can you
work other areas while waiting for hot spot to be tested overnight? Kathleen believes truck hauling
and dewatering total clean up to come in around $200,000 estimated for just Chevron. Bid is
looking at impacted soils only.
Hauling excavation estimate at $30,000. There is 15% markup if Centurywest pays tipping fees.
If we pay tipping fees direct, we can save another $20,000 down the road.
These costs total the $195,000. Some will fall into abatement budget and $42,000 in on-going
negotiations will fa11 under environmental budget.
Contract for air monitoring should be signed.
Meeting adjourned.
