Billy reminded Melvin Mazk to not commit to doing anything that would put you in a bind. Pence/Kelly
has a contract with bill monthly leading up to GMP. Alan and Curt should be able to provide the critical
- path update on that basis and will get to Billy by Wednesday noon to give him time to integrate for his
~ Thursday am staff meeting.
Leonard asked about receiving a copy of the new organizational chart for the intemal team members. A
new issue will be coming out in 24 hours and copies will be given then.
Alan will gather raw information regazding pazking district fees to deal with the chamber's pazking
request for Billy. Billy's office will work with Pence/Kelly to get the critical path softwaze for
scheduling.
Billy would like to operate under this rule of thumb: Under promise; over deliver. Alan added that is a
good point especially with the scrutiny we aze under.
Billy asked about the anticipated time of occupancy for county and transit? Dan responded that "what
is the start date? " is the question to ask. There are intemal reasons why Feb. Or Maz 1 or completion of
DD's from azchitect aze important to county. If given the green light in February or Mazch 1, we could
be done by the end of 1999. Transit's requirement to be off the street is a non issue. County has not
e~ended the lease at Lancaster. Randy is putting off discussions until the project is more firm. The
schedule if fast-tracked has a big effect on end date. Competitive bid process is not fast track. Billy
asked for clarification, he sees maybe only a 30 day e~rtension for competitive bid process.
~ The original plan was to work in stages one phase at a time. We could start underground six months
~° before and then work on the ne}rt phase azchitecturally, allowing time savings azchitecturally. The city
loved the idea to do permits sequentially if it is not bid as full project. John added that the desire to fast
track is our wealc point with the press. The idea of a good spokesperson for this process on the e~rternal
committee might help. Lazry Mattson, an ex-contractor, was recommended by Alan and Curt. He also
was considered in RFP process that hired Melvin Mark.
The ne~rt meeting was scheduled for December 18~' in Conference Room B. The public notice that both
boazds would deliberate Courthouse Squaze viability has been canceled until later.
Meeting was adjourned.
~
