ACTION ITEM: Century West has indicated there are two ways to be testin~g on site. One would be to set up a lab on site. The other way is to send soil samples to Seattle, wi results in two days. Dan's concern is the environmental issues. Dan has asked Kathleen to give us some numbers on the cost of putting a lab on site. Having the lab on site will enable us t have a quick determination of whether the soil it hot or not. This will determine where the s il is delivered. There is possibly one tank at High Street and petroleum in the soil. Larry Wacker h's been advised that there may be one or more tanks in the public right of way. Dan is waiting on the~written reports. Randy is meeting with Jim Sears, of Solid Waste, tomorrow to discuss the disposal d the disposal fees. He is putting together a plan to reduce the disposal fees for Brown's Island. I was suggested that he film the abatement and demolition. If he can get some use out of this, it will educe the fees further. i Public Works will not be able to provide trucks and/or drivers. This is their busy RG is gone 7/26 - 8/18. During this time they will be excavating. The environm~ntal issues will be the County's responsibility. Randy will be out of the office for one week, in A~gust. Dan said that a GMP for the parking structure will come in during this period of time. Rand~ stated that his assumption is that within the next two weeks we will have the design for the parkin~! structure. The GMP will not stop the hole in August, unless someone makes a major flaw in the e timated cost of the parking structure. At this point, we may review budgets, financing and cost ssues. We are committed and are not going to stop the project while they figure out what to do. I Adj ourned.
