COURTHOUSE SQUARE <br />OUTLINE SPECIFICATION <br />PROJECT NO. 9828 <br />July 23, 1998 <br />Page 2 <br />Section 01010, Summary of Work: <br />a. Abbreviated Written Summary: <br />i. Briefly and without force and effect upon Contract Documents, the description of <br />the work of the contract can be summarized as follows: <br />(1) The work includes ??? <br />ii. The General Construction Contractor and each subcontractor, as essential for <br />proper execution and completion of work and as applicable at time of receipt of <br />bids, shall secure and pay for: all permits, govemment fees and licenses, except <br />that Owner will pay all plan checking fees, system development charges, and <br />Fire Marshall's Fire and Life Safety fees. <br />b. Contractor's Use of Premises: <br />i. Use of the Site: Confine operations at the site to the areas permitted. Portions <br />of the site beyond areas on which work is indicated are not to be disturbed. <br />ii. Partial Owner Occupancy: The Owner reserves the right to place and install <br />equipment in completed areas of the building and to occupy completed areas <br />prior to substantial completion, provided that occupancy does not interfere with <br />completion of the work. Placing of equipment and partial occupancy shall not <br />constitute acceptance of the work or any part of the work. <br />2. Section 01026, Alternates: <br />a. Description of Requirements: <br />i. Definition: An afternate is an amount proposed by bidders and stated on the Bid <br />Form that will be added to or deducted from Base Bid amount if the Owner <br />decides to accept a corresponding change in either scope of work or in products, <br />materials, equipment, systems or installation methods described in Contract <br />Documents. <br />ii. Coordination: Coordinate related work and modify or adjust adjacent work as <br />required to ensure that work affected by each accepted altemate is complete and <br />fully integrated into the project. <br />iii. Notification: Immediately following award of Contract, prepare and distribute to <br />each party involved, notification of the status of each afternate. Indicate whether <br />aftemates have been accepted, rejected or deferred for consideration at a later <br />date. Include a complete description of negotiated modifications to altemates, if <br />any. <br />iv. Schedule: A"Schedule of Aftemates" is included at the end of this section. <br />Specification sections referenced in the Schedule contain requirements for <br />materials and methods necessary to achieve the work described under each <br />alternate. <br />(1) Include as part of each alternate, miscellaneous devices, appurtenances <br />and similar items incidental to or required for a complete installation <br />whether or not mentioned as part of the altemate. <br />(2) State on the Bid Form amounts that will be ADDED to or DEDUCTED <br />from the Basic Bid amount for the work described in the Schedule of <br />Aftemates below. <br />Schedule of Altemates: <br />i.
