Description of Work: <br />~• Extent of asphalt concrete paving work consists of plugging p~ltching and in-fill <br />work between new combination cur/gutters and existing pavedlstreets. <br />b• Quality Assurance: <br />i• Quatifications of Asphalt Concrete Producer: <br />(1) Bulk producer regularly engaged in production of hot-mix, hot-laid <br />bituminous concrete, approved by the City of Salem. ' <br />ii. Requirements of Regulatory Agencies <br />(1) American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), Alnerican <br />Association of State Highway and Transportation Offici~ls (AASHTO), <br />Oregon State Highway Division (OSHD), Standard Spe~cifications for <br />Highway Construction, 1984 Edition; City of Salem Sta~dard <br />Construction Specifications (SCS). ' <br />c. Components: - <br />i. All materials shall conform to requirements of SCS Section 306',"Asphalt <br />Concrete Pavement". <br />ii. Use the following SCS bituminous concrete mix classifications fpr areas required <br />to be paved under this contract: <br />(1) Class B: Finish course for all paved surfaces. <br />(2) Class C: Pavement. patching. <br />(3) Bituminous Concrete Mixes: Conform to Section 306 df SCS. Submit <br />job mixes to Architect for review prior to use. <br />(4) Asphalt Cement: AR-4000 grade conforming to AASH'~O M226-731, <br />Table III. <br />(5) Tack Coat: RS-1 conforming to ASTM D977-73 for "Er~ulsified <br />Asphalt", or SSh. in compliance with Federal Specificati~n SS-A-674. <br />(6) Joint Seal: RS-1 or RS-2 conforming to ASTM D977-7~ for "Emulsified <br />Asphaft." <br />23. Section 02515, Pedestrian Unit Pavers: <br />a. System Description: <br />~. Horizontal paving unfts made from clay ceramic materials. ' <br />b• Quality Assurance: <br />i. System Design Criteria: Tile council of America (TCA) "Handbook for Ceramic <br />Tile Installation." <br />ii. Manufacturing Standards: Equal or exceed requirements of TCI~ 137.1-1976. <br />Each type and/or color of paver is to be from one source. ' <br />iii. Reference Standards: American Society for Testing and Material~ (ASTM). <br />c. Components: <br />i. General Requirements: Standard Grade, ASTM C627, Cycles 1'~, through 12. <br />ii• Paver Tile: 8" x 8" x 1/2" and 8" x 8" x 15r~" wire cut pavers; "Da~k Ironspot" by <br />Endicot Clay Products, Fairbury, Nebraska. ! <br />iii.
