Curb Removal: As per bid requirements we have prepared an
alternate price, as provided on the official demolition bid form, for
re-mobilization and curb removal.
We recommend that curbs and or gutters not be removed
until necessary for construction purposes. This is work easily
performed by any General Contractor you select and will fit better
in to their construction schedule. It is important to leave these
components in place to prevent unwanted rain water infiltration
into the project site, and to provided a visible, discrete barrier to
unwanted vehicular traffic. Actual pricing should be somewhat
less expensive since re-mobilization will not be necessary.
60/90 Day Schedule: In closing, regarding separate
proposals based on time, the 60 day schedule can be
accomplished if everything goes just right. Because of overlapping
schedules between the asbestos contractor and the demolition
contractor, safety is pushed to it's limits. It is not a good
condition to be working in. If asbestos were to be completed prior
to commencement of demolition, 60 days would work for
demolition only. We suggest that you carefully quiz the contractor
you select about their 60 and 90 day proposals.
6
