~
centurywest
ENGINEERING CORPORATION
Memorandum
To: David Hariwig, Marion County
Judy Crockett, Marion County
Mike Staton, Staton Construction
Subject: Staton Weekly Consn-uction
Meeting
From: Geoff Bro~~n
C.C.: Kathleen Thorpe, CWEC
Bill Annen, PE, CWEC
Date: July 17, 1997
The purpose of this memorandum is to memorialize the demolition meeting held on July 10, 1997 at
the Courthouse Square site. The meeting was a weekly report by Staton on the overall progress and
status of the demolition project.
The meeting was attended by:
David Hartwig Kathleen Thorpe
*~ Judy Crockett GeoffBrown
Randy Curits Mike Staton
Loni Richey Jeff Smith, Three Rivers Environmental
The following topics were discussed and are summarized as:
1. Demolition is pro~ressin~ on schedule. Staton is creating good damage every day. Noise levels are
probably a little higher because of the crane, but no one has complained.
2. Demolition Recyclin~proceedin~ at planned levels. To date, 90.45% of demolition waste leaving
the site has been recycled. This includes Lui backfill and the great brick giveaway.
The concrete and steel section of the Senator Building poses a sorting problem for Staton. It is
practically impossible to separate the concrete from the drywall and insulation. It may not be
economically feasible to recycle this portion of the building.
Judy said that she had spoken to the folks over at Riverbend Landfill, and they were ambiguous
about whether or not they would recycle the concrete delivered from the Courthouse Square site.
Mike said that he had spoken with the same folks and that it would be recycled.
_ E A D I N G ?
