. ` <br />centurywest <br />ENGINEERING CORPORATION <br />June 16, 1997 <br />Mr. David Hartwig, Manager <br />Marion County Risk Management <br />100 High Street NE <br />Salem, OR 97301 <br />RE: Request for Payment by Staton Construction, Inc. <br />Courthouse Square Demolition Project <br />Dear Mr. Hartwig: <br />The purpose of this letter is to present a request for payment by Staton Construction, Inc. for <br />their initial work regarding the Courthouse Square demolition project. The requested amount <br />totals $61,785 which equals 50% of the mobilization and 100% of both the bond and set up <br />payment items as described in the attached correspondence. <br />Submittals and Documentation. Century West Engineering reviewed and presented Staton's <br />additional submittal information to you on June 12, 1997. As briefly discussed, the submitted <br />documents are substantially complete. Attached please also find the payroll documentation as <br />required for processing this partial payment request #1. <br />~ Egtra-Permits. Staton Construction has included an additional payment item, identified as e~ra- <br />pernuts in the attached correspondence, in the amount of $2,730. This item represents their cost <br />and mark-up for the procurement of demolition pernutting fees collected by the City of Salem. <br />The contract documents between Staton Construction and Marion County specifically state that <br />demolition permitting fees would not be incurred. Therefore, Staton Construction intends to <br />request payment from Marion County for this line item as a portion of payment request #2. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to present this information to you and Marion County.
