t~,- ~ <br />SCOPE OF WORK FOR AMENDMENT #1 <br />CONTRACT BETWEEN MARION COUNTY AND STATON CONSTRUCTION INC. <br />1.01 DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br />Amendment 1 involves the demolition and removal of the basement shoring fill, basement walls, basement <br />floors and basement foot'ings from alls structures bounded by Court Street, Church Street, Chemeketa <br />Street and High Street in Salem, Oregon. <br />1.02 WORK SEQUENCE <br />Activities shall be coordinated with the Owner or Owners Representative <br />1.03 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br />1. The Contractor shall provide personnel air monitoring for OSHA compliance. The Owner or Owners <br />representative shall provide monitoring clearance testing as required. The contractor shall notify the <br />Owner or Owners representative 24 hours in advance of the time that test services are needed to allow <br />adequate scheduling of equipment and personnel. <br />2. If the Contractor fails to meet final clearance standards, the Contractor shall re-clean the work area to <br />meet such standards. Costs incurred by the Owner or Owners representative for re-testing of final <br />clearances shall be deducted from the sums originally due the Contractor. <br />1.04 BASEMENT REMOVAL <br />A. Perform excavation work in a systematic manner as necessary to safely completely demolish and <br />remove basements and basement walls including appurtenances related to and connected thereto. <br />B. Debris, including masonry, concrete, metals and similar materials shall become property of Contractor <br />and shall be disposed of off the site by the Contractor. To the extent practical, provide for separate sorting <br />of demolition debris for recycling and resource recovery. <br />C. Shoring, Sheeting and Bracing: Maintain angles of repose for banks and excavations over five feet <br />deep to protect workers. Extend shoring and bracing to the bottom of the excavation. Shoring slopes <br />angles shall be in compliance with applicable OSHA standards. <br />D. Any petroleum impacted soil encountered during excavation shall be stockpiled on site. Stockpiles <br />shall be lined, burmed and covered using 6 millimeter plastic. <br />E. Cleanup: On completion of this section, and after removal of all debris, leave site in clean condition <br />satisfactory to the Owner or the Owner's representative. Dispose of all items and materials not required to <br />remain property of Marion County as well as all debris and rubbish from demolition operations. <br />F. Upon completion of this section, Contractor shall smooth or grade all ground surfaces where <br />applicable. <br />1.05 RECYCLING <br />A. Recycling levels shall be maintained at 90°Io. <br />
