<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />District Attorney <br />Investigator <br />Class Code: <br />640 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$29.72 - $39.82 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 04 Protective ServicesDistrict Attorney <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Assist deputy district attorneys by conducting criminal investigations as assigned; conducts child support <br />investigations and prepares cases for court action; assists in all phases of case preparation; and <br />performs related work as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the supervision of a Trial Team Supervisor the Criminal Investigations Supervisor who <br />assigns investigations and outlines policies and procedures; conducts assignments in investigation <br />procedures and in child support areas. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. However, an employee <br />in this classification may assume lead work responsibilities in the coordination of investigative work <br />assignments and schedules. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />Support Enforcement Division <br />1.Locates absent parents and assets; gathers information and evidence regarding the parent's ability <br />to pay child support through computer inquiries, phone contacts, and other law enforcement <br />agencies. <br />2.Prepares cases for court; makes arrangements with the person paying or their attorney, continues <br />cases, schedules court appearances in lieu of warrants, makes recommendations on warrant <br />arrest releases, confirms information for attorneys, and researches payments and distributions of <br />monies. <br />3.Attends various court hearings and grand jury, prepares court orders during court proceedings, <br />and prepares the necessary paperwork that comes out of the hearing.
