<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Electrical Inspector <br />Class Code: <br />109 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$28.32 - $37.92 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA EEOC Department <br />: Non-Exempt: 01 Officials and Administrators: Public Works <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Inspects all types and stages of electrical installations and plans for compliance to the Oregon Electrical <br />Specialty Code as adopted by Marion County; performs other related duties as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the Assistant Building Official who outlines assignments and <br />reviews work through meetings and reports. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision is not a regular responsibility of positions in this class, but an incumbent will be expected to <br />take leadership in assisting less experienced inspectors on training assignments or inspections of a <br />difficult or unusual nature. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Inspects electrical installations and systems during construction to ensure compliance with <br />applicable requirements. <br />2.Reviews construction plans for completeness and compliance with county codes and policies as <br />required to assist applicants. <br />3.Assists and advises the general public in matters relating to electrical equipment, products and <br />code requirements. <br />4.Reviews commercial electrical plans for code compliance as required. <br />5.Maintains records and compiles reports of inspection activities. <br />6.Provides advice and guidance to individuals with limited electrical skills to assist such persons in <br />complying with applicable codes. <br />7.Appears in court when the occasion warrants it to testify regarding electrical installations. <br />8.Extensive driving possibly up to 200 miles per day. <br />9.Investigates complaints and inspects existing electrical systems and appliances to determine if <br />hazardous or illegal conditions are present. <br />10.Prepares written reports; issues notices to correct violations; issues "stop work" notices. <br />11.Provides electrical code training to other department personnel. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
