<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Juvenile Probation <br />Officer Trainee <br />Class Code: <br />200 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$23.33 - $31.28 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA EEOC: Department: <br />: Non-Exempt04 Protective ServicesJuvenile <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />This is an entry level position in the Juvenile Probation Officer classification series; under close <br />supervision, performs professional juvenile case management and supervision while utilizing evidence <br />based practices that are supported by research data designed to achieve identified outcomes established <br />by the Juvenile Department. Performs other duties as assigned. Upon satisfactorily meeting the <br />experience, knowledge, training requirements, skills, and abilities of a Juvenile Probation Officer, the <br />employee may be promoted to the classification of Juvenile Probation Officer. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the close supervision of a Juvenile Program Supervisor who sets goals, assigns caseload, <br />and reviews performance by observation and through reports and conferences. May also receive <br />department orientation and consultation with Juvenile Probation Officers. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this class. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Interviews and assesses the needs of referred juveniles and families; completes assessments; <br />makes referrals to appropriate community and department resources; establishes and maintains <br />80% to 100% of an average assigned caseload, at least through a standard employee <br />probationary period. <br />2.Prepares timely reports and orders for the case record and Court; prepares and presents <br />information regarding clients to the Court; presents dispositional recommendations, supervises <br />dispositions ordered by the Court (ORS 419A and 419C) and provides case management and <br />interventions for juveniles. <br />3.Develop, monitor, and update case plans that include evidence-based practices to address the <br />needs, strengths and risk level of juveniles. <br />4.Makes contact with victims, negotiates restitution amounts for FAAs, recommends department and <br />court fees, and monitors the collection of all financial obligations.. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
