<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Survey Technician 1 <br />Class Code: <br />312 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$20.32 - $27.20 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 03 TechniciansPublic Works <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Performs a variety of routine functions requiring some technical skill in surveying; including work in land <br />surveys, work on engineering projects, and providing assistance in re-establishing or witnessing <br />government corners; performs other related work as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the direct supervision of a lead worker or under the direct supervision of a higher level <br />technician or manager who assigns projects, crew assignments, and evaluates work performance. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Serves as survey technician, assisting with the performance of land survey work including control <br />surveys, land surveys topographic surveys, road right-of-way surveys, construction surveys, <br />measurement of quantities, and government corner restoration. <br />2.Assists with monumentation and related note keeping. <br />3.Performs equipment maintenance. <br />4.Assists the public and professional surveyors in researching public survey records; researches <br />records for information related to survey projects; assists in filing survey records. <br />5.Performs basic survey computations using programmable calculator and PC's. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Graduation from high school or equivalent with course work in math, including trigonometry AND <br />2.One (1) year of course work in surveying principles; OR <br />3.One (1) year of experience in boundary of construction surveying; OR <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br /> <br />
