<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Survey Technician 2 <br />Class Code: <br />313 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$23.33 - $31.28 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 03 TechniciansPublic Works <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Performs a variety of surveying, computer aided design, and engineering functions requiring moderate <br />technical skill, including work on land surveys, engineering projects, and helping in the re-establishing or <br />witnessing of government corners; performs related work as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the direction of a lead worker or under the direct supervision of a higher level technician or <br />manager who assigns projects, crew assignments, and evaluates work performance. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification; however, may <br />exercise some lead direction over other survey personnel. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Serves as survey technician or computer aided design person in the performance of land survey <br />and engineering work which includes control survey's, topographic surveys, road right-of way <br />survey's, construction survey's, measurement of quantities; assists in the government corner <br />restoration program; and prepares survey maps and engineering plans. <br />2.Follows GLO notes, survey notes, maps and corner restoration notes to help locate government <br />corners and other survey monuments. <br />3.Assists in performing monumentation and related note keeping. <br />4.Assists with equipment maintenance. <br />5.Prepares reports, maps, and plans for survey and engineering projects; helps prepare legal <br />descriptions for right-of-way acquisition. <br />6.Assists the public and professional surveyors in researching public survey records.
