A minimum separation of 10 feet is required from the septic tank if the tank is located
up slope of the curtain drain and 5 feet if the tank is located down slope of the curtain drain.
DRY SOIL CONDITIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR INSTALLATION(March 1—October 31).The geographical area in which
the property lies is considered a risk to installation during winter months. Soil moisture conditions generally preclude
construction of the drainfield in the winter months.
OBSERVE ALL SETBACKS AND SEPARATION DISTANCES as required by the DEQ rules. A copy of the DEQ setback
requirements is on file in our office and available online at http://www.deq.state.or.us/wq/onsite/sdssearch.asp under Rules:
Division 71:Table 1.
THE APPROVED SEPTIC SYSTEM AREA MUST BE.PROTECTED from any vehicular traffic, livestock and farming
activities. Other activities such as excavating or filling, driveway placement, paving or other similar activities that alter the
natural soil conditions will adversely affect the soil and the septic system function and lead to premature system failure. The
area must not be subjected to excessive saturation due to artificial drainage of ground surfaces, driveways, building
downspouts or other sources. The areas of the initial septic system and the future repair system must both be protected.
CALL BEFORE YOU DIG...IT'S THE LAW
ATTENTION:Oregon law requires you to follow rules adopted by the Oregon Utility Notification Center.
