The proposal is to shift land between Parcel 1 (083W08C 04200) and Parcel 2 (083W08C 04400) to create a 2.79 acre lot and a 1.56 acre lot. This review is for Parcel 1. The Marion County records indicate that the system serving this property was updated in 1984 under permit number 84-499. The existing tank and drainfield was altered, with an unknown amount of new drainfield below it. The system was recently pumped and located by Ace Septic and Excavating on April 16, 2019. The technician noted a 900 gallon concrete tank under some bricks and noted no signs of failure. The drainfield in total is comprised of 375 linear feet of rock and pipe in satisfactory condition. There is room for repair noted on the plans. THIS RECORD REVIEW IS BASED ON THE INFORMATION SUBMITTED BY THE APPLICANT. Please refer to the signed site plan dated May 10, 2019. THE SEPTIC SYSTEM AREA MUST BE PROTECTED from any vehicular traffic, livestock and farming activities. Other activities such as logging, excavating or filling, driveway placement or any similar activities may also damage the soil in the area and adversely affect the septic system approval. The areas of the initial septic system and the future repair area must both be protected. THE SEPTIC TANK SHOULD BE PUMPED AND INSPECTED by a licensed septic tank pumping service approximately EVERY FIVE (5) YEARS. The septic tank is a reservoir for the solid materials in the sewage waste stream. Excessive accumulation of these solid materials in the septic tank will cause the solids to wash out of the tank and into the drainfield.
