Approved Area & System Type
Soil test pits and other site features were evaluated during the site visit on March 13, 2007. The
conditions observed during this site evaluation indicate that the area around the evaluated test holes is
capable of supporting a STANDARD SEPTIC SYSTEM with HYDROSPLITTER for the INITIAL
system and ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT SYSTEM REPAIR. Please refer to the signed approved
site plan dated March 13,2007.
Specific Requirements
HYDROSPLITTER REQUIRED TO ACHIEVE EQUAL DISTRIBUTION AND 18"
MINIMUM/MAXIMUM TRENCHES.
AN EFFLUENT LIFT PUMP WILL BE REQUIRED to install the septic system disposal field in the
approved area and at the required depth.Detailed instructions for dosing tank/effluent pump installations
are available in our office. The electrical wiring to the pump and alarm must be installed in accordance
with the appropriate Electrical Code. The electrical work must be done under a Marion County Electrical
Permit and must be inspected and approved by a Marion County Electrical Inspector. The work must be
left uncovered and accessible for inspection. The electrical inspection includes the connections to the
pump and alarm in the dosing tank, the wiring in the trench and the connections in the structure.
A DETAILED SEPTIC SYSTEM STAKEOUT IS REQUIRED prior to the issuance of a septic system
installation permit. The area for the system is very limited and the stakeout must be completed to
determine that the system will fit within the area of the approved test pits. A scaledrawn, detailed site
plan must b submitted with the application for the installation permit. The stakeout must be inspected on
the property and approved before the permit can be issued.Instructions for the stakeout are attached and
are available in our office.
IF A FULL INITIAL OR REPAIR STANDARD SYSTEM CANNOT FIT IN THE APPROVED AREA
DUE TO SETBACK ISSUES, AN ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT SYSTEM OR NEW SITE
EVALUATION TO RELOCATE APPROVAL AREA WILL BE REQUIRED.
Additional Conditions of Site Approval
1. This site is approved for the type of disposal system described above. Peak sewage flow into the
system is limited to a maximum of 450 gallons per day, with an average sewage flow of not more
than 225 gallons per day. This is normally sufficient to serve a single family dwelling with a
maximum of four bedrooms. Premature failure of the treatment system may occur if either of these
flow quantities is exceeded. Iffor some reason you expect your domestic household water use may
exceed these flows, it may be advisable to increase the size of the treatment system.
2. Any alteration of natural soil conditions(i.e. cutting or filling)in the acceptable area may void this
approval.
3. Both the initial and replacement disposal areas are to be protected from traffic, livestock and fanning
activities, development or other potential disturbance of natural soil conditions.
4. The area must not be subjected to excessive saturation due to,but not limited to,artificial drainage
of ground surfaces, roads, driveways and building down spouts.
5. This approval is given on the basis that the parcel described above will not be further partitioned or
555 Court St.NE — P.O.Box 14500—Salem,Oregon 97309-5036—Phone(503)588-5147—Fax(503)588-7948
Page2of3
