SEPTIC-RELATED DEFINITIONS <br /> Record Review: This is required when an accessory structure or an exterior addition without bedrooms is <br /> proposed, or adjusting the property lines (when septic history is available). <br /> Authorization: This is required when re-connecting or increasing flow to the existing system, i.e. adding a <br /> bedroom(s) or replacing a home, or changing the use of a current building. <br /> Site Evaluation: This is required to determine what type of septic system is required on an undeveloped <br /> parcel,when a parcel is being created (partition), or property lines are being adjusted (property line <br /> adjustment). <br /> Existino System Evaluation: This is required for an existing parcel being divided. <br /> Repair: This permit is required when the septic system (tank and/or drainfield) is failing, i.e. sewage is <br /> surfacing on the ground, backing up into the house, or the septic system has been damaged. <br /> Alteration: This permit is required when relocating or adding onto the septic system (tank and/or <br /> drainfield). <br /> Minor Repair or Alteration: This permit includes the septic tank ONLY. <br /> Major Repair or Alteration: This permit includes the drainfield and may include the septic tank. <br /> Construction/Installation: This permit is required when the property has a valid Site Evaluation permit and <br /> is ready to install the septic system and may require detailed construction plans—sand filter; stakeout, etc. <br /> G\FORMS\SEPr1Cl pplication Checklist 2008 disc <br />
