Assemble push-on joints for <br /> pipe-to-pipe joint connections in accordance with the requirements of <br /> AWWA C605 for laving the pipe and the recommendations in AWWA M23, <br /> Chapter 7, "Installation, " for pipe joint assembly. Assemble push-on <br /> joints for connection to fittings in accordance with the requirements <br /> of AWWA C605 for joining PVC pipe to fittings and accessories and with <br /> the applicable requirements of AWWA C600 for joint assembly. Make <br /> compression-type joints/mechanical-joints with the gaskets, glands, <br /> bolts, nuts, and internal stiffeners specified for this type joint and <br /> assemble in accordance with the requirements of AWWA C605 for joining <br /> PVC pipe to fittings and accessories, with the applicable requirements <br /> of AWWA C600 for joint assembly, and with the recommendations of <br /> Appendix A to AWWA C111/A21.11. Cut off spigot end of pipe for <br /> compression-type joint/mechanical-joint connections and do not re-bevel. <br /> c. Pipe anchorage: Provide concrete thrust blocks (reaction backing) <br /> for pipe anchorage. Size and position thrust blocks as indicated. Use <br /> concrete conforming to ASTM C 94/C 94M having a minimum compressive <br /> strength of 2,000 psi at 28 days; or use concrete of a mix not leaner <br /> than one part cement, 2 1/2 parts sand, and 5 parts gravel, having the <br /> same minimum compressive strength. <br /> 3.1.2.3 Pipeline Installation Beneath Highway Right-of-Way <br /> Where pipeline passes under highway right-of-way, install carrier pipe with <br /> polyethylene pipe spacers, insulators, and bolted end seals. Installation <br /> shall include all requirements and details as required in the ODOT approved <br /> permit. Utility horizontal directional drilling specifications are <br /> provided in SECTION 33 05 23.13 25, UTILITY HORIZONTAL DIRECTIONAL DRILLING. <br /> 3.1.3 Precast Tank Installation <br /> Precast concrete tanks shall be installed 3 feet below finish grade with <br /> risers as detailed by the tank manufacturer. Each riser shall be ringed by <br /> a 20-inch wide steel reinforced precast concrete collar designed by the <br /> tank manufacturer sized to accept HS-20 36-inch diameter cast iron frame <br /> and cover set to finish grade. Excavation allow for leveling and 6 inches <br /> of bedding material compacted to not less than 95 percent of maximum dry <br /> density as determined by ASTM D 1557. <br /> 3.1.4 Installation of Effluent Pump Package <br /> Effluent pump package shall be installed and tested by licensed contractors <br /> registered with ODEQ and certified with Orenco systems or equal. <br /> 3.1.5 Miscellaneous Construction and Installation <br /> 3.1.6 Sewage Absorption Trench Construction <br /> Construct sewage absorption trench per drawings and sanitary permit <br /> requirements. Drain media per DEQ requirements or with Easy Flow 1202H or <br /> equivalent as shown, may be utilized, as approved by Contracting Officer. <br /> Approximately trench locations are shown on the drawings, and actual <br /> locations are staked in the field.
