Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />3.Reviews, monitors and evaluates educational records, attendance and special educational needs <br />of children/youth; works closely with parents and school personnel in a team approach that <br />focuses on educational support and educational success of children; travels to schools throughout <br />Marion County in order to work cooperatively related to children's educational needs. <br />4.Collaboratively plans, implements and supports behavioral interventions for clients in school, home <br />and community settings; encourages pro-social skills development in parents and children/youth <br />through teaching, modeling, and referral to services that include pro-social skills groups, parenting <br />classes, and counseling; facilitates pro-social skills groups as required. <br />5.Uses interactions with youth and family members to teach and support skills using evidenced <br />based programs, practices and principles. <br />6.Works collaboratively with agency partners, parents, youth, service providers, and co-workers and <br />maintains effective communication. <br />7.Performs other duties as assigned, including initial intake screening of potential Family Support <br />Program clients. <br />8.Maintains regular and consistent contact with clients in the school and home settings. Provides <br />support to reduce barriers to service delivery. <br />9.Keeps accurate and up-to-date records that document goals, client progress, services provided, <br />and outcome data; completes monthly reports and service summaries; completes other reports as <br />required. <br />10.Informs community schools, agencies, and others about the family support program and services <br />available to at-risk children who meet program criteria. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Bachelor's degree in human services, corrections, education, counseling or a related field; AND <br />2.Two (2) years experience working with children/youth, preferably in juvenile corrections, mental <br />health or education; OR <br />3.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Must possess, or obtain within 30 days of hire, a valid Oregon driver's license. Must possess, at <br />> <br />time of hire, and maintain an acceptable driver's record. <br />Possession of, or have the ability to obtain with 30 days of hire, a valid CPR/First Aid card. <br />> <br />Possession of, or have the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire, verification of current blood <br />> <br />borne pathogen training. <br />Ability to pass a criminal history check, background investigation and drug screen. <br />> <br />Ability to work evening hours as needed. <br />> <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Knowledge of: human development and developmental milestones for children, adolescents and adults; <br />family functioning and dynamics; casework methods and techniques; evidenced based programs and <br />principles, behavioral intervention techniques; parenting skills; psychological, social and educational <br />issues relevant to children and youth; department and community resources; strength-based case <br />planning and service delivery. <br />Skill in: case assessment, management and intervention; collaborative development of client goals and <br />steps to achieve goals; identification and support of individual and family strengths; consistent application <br />of positive reinforcement; encouraging and motivating children and adults; relating to a wide diversity of <br />people with varying ages and backgrounds; communicating assertively with children and adults. <br />Ability to: coordinate an array of services and family participation in a team approach; function as a role <br />model for children and adults; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; relate well to all kinds of <br />people, with sensitivity to social, family and cultural differences; manage conflict effectively; acquire/apply <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
