Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />judgment by seeking consultation with a mental health specialist or public health medical staff when <br />needed and keeps the supervisor well informed of progress via verbal and written reports. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />Duties may include any of those included in the PHW 1 and PHW 2 classifications as well as the <br />following. <br />Duties listed are examples and are not all-inclusive. <br />1.Identifies high-risk populations in need of service via community outreach and assessment. <br />2.Provides services in support of case management goals, including interviewing clients, providing <br />information and referral, assisting with authorizations for allied health services and performing <br />basic health screening tests. <br />3.Provides health care education and counseling to identified populations. <br />4.Locates appropriate health resources to serve client's needs. Provides and/or refers client to <br />resources. May require serving as client advocate with third party payers or the medical <br />community on occasion. <br />5.Maintains knowledge of community resources to promote client health and provides referrals to <br />clients as necessary. <br />6.Assists in health care educational programs and community projects for identified populations. <br />7.May act as an interpreter between clients and health care systems. <br />8.May draw blood, deliver medications, perform TB tests or provide HIV counseling and testing. <br />9.Within behavioral health services, submits drug refills to pharmacies as authorized <br />by physician/prescriber. <br />10.Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Graduation from high school or GED; AND <br />2.Associate's Degree in social sciences, a health occupation, mental health or related field, with two <br />(2) years experience in community health, medical, mental health, or alcohol/drug services or other <br />related fields; OR <br />3.Four (4) years in community health, medical, mental health or alcohol/drug services or related <br />advocacy, health education or other related fields with the culture of the population being served; <br />OR <br />4.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Proficiency in both the English language and the preferred language of the client population served <br />> <br />by the position. <br />Must possess, or obtain within 30 days of hire, a valid Class C Oregon driver's license. <br />> <br />Must possess and maintain an acceptable driving record. <br />> <br />If personal vehicle is used, must possess and maintain proof of personal automobile liability <br />> <br />insurance, at a minimum, in the amount required by Oregon Law \[ORS Chapter 806\]. <br />Must pass a criminal history background investigation; however, conviction of a crime may not <br />> <br />necessarily disqualify an individual for this classification <br />Within behavioral health services, must be able to be credentialed as QMHA if required. <br />> <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br /> <br />
