Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />2.Initiates action to modify child support court orders and interstate proceedings to modify and <br />enforce support obligations; refers cases to attorneys for review and initiation of contempt, <br />financial disclosure exam, criminal nonsupport or other judicial actions. <br />3.Assists with law clerk training. <br />4.Assists with case preparation for court hearings or trials; prepares case history explanations; <br />testifies at judicial and administrative hearings as to reasoning for conclusions and other relevant <br />information. <br />5.Responds to case inquiries and resolves complaints; explains status of case and reasons for <br />initiated actions; clarifies amounts subject to withholding and garnishments; clarifies amounts and <br />calculation of arrearages. Investigates facts, applies facts to applicable law, processes, monitors <br />for response, and follows-up with appropriate action. Communicates with other states via <br />interstate computer network. <br />6.Manages division's information system; acts as system liaison to State and local agencies. <br />Maintains system security; assigns and updates user codes. <br />7.Assists in developing short and long term information system planning; consults with department <br />system users to define needs; researches and recommends purchase of software and hardware. <br />8.Trains system users on hardware and software; responds to and resolves user's problems. <br />9.Schedules and performs system maintenance; installs new equipment; coordinates repairs; <br />assures maintenance agreements are current. Tracks program area problems; monitors system <br />for efficiency and effectiveness. <br />10.Tests and debugs new software releases before installation; installs computer software upgrade <br />and adjusts applications for user's specific needs; maintains and updates user documentation. <br />11.Writes report queries; generates reports; designs and drafts forms; creates spreadsheets and <br />database macros. <br />12.Performs system file maintenance; updates records, backs-up files, transfers files between <br />computer systems, and archives files. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Two (2) years experience in computer applications; AND Three (3) years of increasingly <br />responsible paralegal, collections or case management experience; OR <br />2.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Working Knowledge of: computer hardware and features of operating systems; automated system <br />security methods and procedures; training system practices and procedures; data integrity control; <br />Federal and State statutes, regulations, rules, policies, and processes regarding support and <br />enforcement; interview and negotiation techniques; arithmetic; collection techniques; legal processes and <br />procedures. <br />Skill in: Providing technical assistance or training others in the use of computer hardware and software; <br />resolving user problems. <br />Ability to: organize and write work site instructions and procedures; code, test, debug, maintain and install <br />computer applications and modify applications according to work site requirements; effectively <br />communicate in both oral and written form; effectively represent the agency in administrative hearings <br />and to present testimony at administrative and judicial proceedings; interview and negotiate with people <br />from various socioeconomic backgrounds who may be uncooperative and/or hostile; obtain facts and <br />initiate appropriate administrative or judicial legal actions to modify child support; resolve discrepancies <br />and provide case information; exercise judgment and discretion in applying rules and policies; read legal <br />documents; collect and organize data; perform arithmetic calculations to computer payments of <br />arrearages and determine total assets; establish and maintain effective, cooperative, and professional <br />working relationships with the public, attorneys, other agencies and co-workers. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br /> <br />
