<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Support Specialist (IT) <br />Class Code: <br />650 <br />Bargaining Unit: 08 - Marion County Employees <br />Association (Information Technology) <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$28.45 - $38.15 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 03 Technicians Information Technology <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Journey level classification of the Information Services series, which applies specialized knowledge in <br />department wide, multiple software applications; conducts training sessions; assists Programmer <br />Analysts in design of systems and applications, and recommend policy or procedural changes to ensure <br />effectiveness and efficiency of systems; provides technical assistance in and facilitates the use of <br />computer hardware and software for a department; and performs related work as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of a Information Technology supervisor who assigns work, <br />establishes goals, and reviews work for conformance to technical standards and compliance with <br />department goals. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification; however, may <br />exercise lead direction over other technical or clerical staff. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Provides technical assistance and formally trains users in the full use and operation of PC, mini <br />and mainframe computer systems hardware and software; designs and evaluates formal training <br />classes and/or training materials; assists users with more complex problem solving and <br />debugging. <br />2.Performs PC and Printer hardware maintenance; coordinates repairs and installation of equipment <br />as necessary. <br />3.Assists Programmer/Analyst(s) in assessing design of systems and multiple software applications <br />as required by users to meet department needs. <br />4.Tracks program area problems and monitors system for efficiency and effectiveness; recommends <br />procedural changes in assigned program area; participates in systems analysis. <br />5.Creates spreadsheets and database macros to facilitate assigned operations; generates <br />mainframe and other computer reports; queries system to produce special reports. <br />6.Coordinates training schedules and problem resolution within department to assure best use of <br />automated systems; answers a variety of routines and complex computer related questions from <br />users. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br /> <br />
