Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />4.Develop recommendations for corrective actions to assure the health and safety of clients and <br />follow up. <br />5.Assess abuse/exploitation risks, including physical, emotional and behavioral indicators, as well as <br />family and environmental contributors. <br />6.Prepare documentation and evidence to support protective services actions such as seeking and <br />assisting with restraining orders, protective orders, court commitments, guardianship and/or other <br />court related activities, including photography, and/or detailed review of medical/financial records. <br />7.Participate in the development of information resources, and provide training and technical <br />assistance to case managers, service providers, brokerages, community agencies and others <br />regarding the definition of and the mandatory reporting of abuse. <br />8.Prepare written report of investigation findings, including any required actions to respond to abuse <br />or prevent further abuse of a client. <br />9.Maintain records and documents action taken. <br />10.Assist management in monitoring the quality of protective services delivered within the county. <br />11.Assist management in the identification of existing and insufficient protective service delivery <br />resources and options. <br />12.Provide information of investigation procedures to clients, caregivers, family members, staff, <br />brokerages, and others, within required timelines. <br />13.Conduct safety planning with alleged victims, including taking immediate action if necessary. <br />14.Work collaboratively with law enforcement agencies. <br />15.Participate regularly in local multi-disciplinary teams pertaining to vulnerable adult abuse.Initiate <br />and maintain effective relationships, works in conjunction and collaboratively with community <br />partners and other local and state agencies, attorneys and other professionals. <br />16.Collect and document statistical data; participate in monthly SERT committee meetings. <br />17.May represent the agency on community committees as requested by the supervisor. <br />18.Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Possession of a master's degree in psychology, social work, education. criminal justice or a related <br />field and one (1) year paraprofessional work experience consisting of serving individuals with a <br />diagnosis of developmental disability or mental illness; OR <br />2.Possession of a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, education, criminal justice or a <br />related filed and three (3) years paraprofessional work experience consisting of serving individuals <br />with a primary diagnosis of developmental disability or mental illness; OR <br />3.Seven (7) years of equivalent training and paraprofessional work experience as described above; <br />OR <br />4.Any satisfactory combination of experience and training that demonstrates possession of the <br />required knowledge and skills. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Must successfully pass a criminal history check which may include national or state fingerprint <br />> <br />records check. <br />This is a safety sensitive/special needs position. Final candidates selected for this position will be <br />> <br />required to pass a post offer drug screen, including testing for marijuana.
