Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Graduation from high school or equivalent; AND <br />2.Two (2) years of volunteer or paid experience in the care and handling of dogs; AND <br />3.Two (2) years of general office experience; OR <br />4.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />1.Must be at least 21 years of age. <br />2.Must possess a current Oregon driver's license, and maintain an acceptable driving record. <br />3.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. <br />4.Must pass a criminal history background investigation; however, conviction of a crime may not <br />necessarily be a disqualification for employment. <br />5.Final candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment drug-screening test. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Safely and compassionately handle and care for dogs in stressful situations and environments. Safely <br />handle injured and aggressive dogs. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with the <br />public and County employees; provide customer service in a friendly and effective manner.
