<br />SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES MANAGER <br /> <br /> <br />Classification #: 020 <br /> <br />FLSA: <br /> Exempt <br />EEOC: <br /> 02 <br /> <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: <br /> <br /> <br />Responsible for the planning, organizing, administration and coordination of the centralized <br />administrative function of a large County department, including budget and contract administration, <br />accounting and various aspects of administrative support. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED: <br /> <br /> <br />Works under the general supervision of a manager or department head, who establishes goals and <br />objectives for conformance to department standards and legal requirements. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED: <br /> <br /> <br />Positions in this classification exercise full supervision over a unit of clerical, technical and <br />professional employees. Participates in the selection of new personnel, provides training, conducts <br />performance evaluations, responds to grievances and handles personnel issues. <br /> <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br /> <br />The Senior Administrative Services Manager is distinguished from the Administrative Services <br />Manager based on the size and complexity of the department’s budget, including the variety of funding <br />sources and contracts. In addition, the Senior Administrative Services Manager supervises <br />professional-level budget staff as well as clerical and technical staff. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: <br /> (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following) <br /> <br />Duties may include, but are not limited to the following: <br /> <br />1. Develops, prepares and maintains budget for department. <br /> <br />2. Provides complex budget analysis for the department and makes recommendations for changes <br />and revisions. <br /> <br />3. Collects, analyzes and evaluates budget information for the department. Makes <br />recommendations on budget requests and prepares supportive documentation. Monitors and <br />controls budget expenditures. Instructs and assists staff in developing budgets, preparing <br />supporting documentation and maintaining accounts. <br /> <br />4. Plans, directs, supervises and coordinates the work activities of a staff handling budgeting, <br />accounting, personnel, office and administrative duties. <br /> <br /> <br />
