<br />SENIOR OFFICE MANAGER <br /> <br />Classification#: 018 <br />FLSA: Exempt <br />EEOC: 02 <br /> <br /> <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: <br /> <br />Positions at this level are involved primarily with the design and implementation of <br />comprehensive office systems and work flow procedures including automated management <br />information systems, advanced clerical functions of a complex or technical nature and <br />maintaining compliance with legal and/or grant requirements. Plans, organizes and manages the <br />work of a large county department’s office or divisions’ clerical support staff which requires <br />advanced administrative expertise in the areas of assignment. Prepares and administers special <br />projects of a complex and technical nature as assigned. <br /> <br />Positions in the Senior Office Manager classification differ from the Office Manager by having <br />the broader responsibility to: (1) supervise a staff of 10 or more employees; and (2) administer <br />specialized and more complex departmental functions requiring a higher degree of technical <br />expertise to perform this type of work assignment. The Office Manager classification directly <br />supervises the work of small office and/or division’s clerical support personnel while performing <br />more routine office functions. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED: <br /> <br />Works under the general supervision of a higher level administrator or manager who assigns <br />work, establishes goals and reviews the results obtained for overall effectiveness through the <br />analysis of performance. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED: <br /> <br />The Senior Office Manager oversees and supervises a large clerical support staff that may be <br />within several different divisions of a large department. The Senior Office Manager may have <br />the discretionary authority to have routine office functions administered through subordinate lead <br />personnel. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: <br /> (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following.) <br /> <br /> <br />1.Plans, assigns and schedules work \[or assigns through subordinate lead personnel\]; <br />organizes and prioritizes workflow; provides direction on technical or procedural <br />issues \[e.g., large, complex billing systems\]. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Hires and directs all levels of clerical support and administrative staff of <br />approximately 10 or more employees; prepares performance evaluations; <br /> <br />
