<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Corrections Nurse RN <br />Class Code: <br />195 <br />Bargaining Unit: 05 - Marion County Law <br />Enforcement Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$31.51 - $42.21 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 02 ProfessionalsSheriff <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Serve as a professional nurse in the county corrections facility; perform a variety of nursing <br />duties in a correctional setting, exercising considerable independent judgment in all aspects of <br />the medical program; perform physical examinations of inmates and treat or refer them <br />appropriately; dispense or provide for dispensing of medications under the direction of a <br />licensed physician. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Work under the general supervision of the medical supervisor and under the medical <br />supervision of a licensed physician in all matters pertaining to performing medical services to <br />inmates. For security purposes, all tasks performed with inmate clients will be attended by a <br />Sheriff's Deputy. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Assess physical needs and evaluate medical requirements of inmates; determine the <br />nature and severity of inmate injuries or diseases and treats when appropriate through <br />the Physician's standing orders or refer to the licensed physician when necessary. <br />2.Complete accurate and thorough medical documentation, including inmate medical <br />charts, medication records, daily activity logs, and pharmacy records. <br />3.Conduct screening and testing of communicable and sexually transmitted diseases; <br />under specific circumstances, may be responsible for HIV counseling and testing; <br />conducts CPR and First Aid, venipuncture, decubitus and wound care, burn <br />debridement, dressing changes, bowel and bladder care, universal precautions, basic <br />isolation techniques, and chest physiotherapy. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID...3/22/2021 <br /> <br />
