Taylor Property, Claim#3711K475P(3/23/2021) 4 of 7 <br /> %of Combustion Product Prevalence on Typical Surfaces <br /> (Char+Ash+Soot) <br /> Uncommon— Indicative of an unusual percentage of the dust <br /> > 10%(Major) composition (but may or may not contribute to corrosion <br /> potential or environmental health risk)and likely due to a large <br /> source of combustion particles(e.g.wildfire). <br /> Less common (but found from time to time) —Indicative of <br /> 1 - 10% (Minor) less common percentage of the dust composition;however,can <br /> be found on surfaces from time to time due to combustion <br /> sources other than wildfires. <br /> Common—Indicative of a common background percentage of <br /> < 1%(Trace or ND) the dust composition, typical of recently cleaned surfaces or <br /> absence of a significant wildfire impact. <br /> Observations and Sampling Results <br /> Sensory Observations <br /> During FACS investigation of the property, the following findings were generated: <br /> Exterior <br /> • No observable smoke odor was present. <br /> • No indications of wildfire smoke impact identified (e.g., smoke related particulate, staining). <br /> • The exterior contents were covered with snow so they could not be adequately inspected at the <br /> time of the assessment. <br /> • Moderate dust deposition was observed on exterior window sills as well as fixtures, including <br /> window ledges, and panes. <br /> • Unusual corrosion of metal or other materials that could be directly attributed to a fire event was <br /> not observed. <br /> Interior Living Spaces-Surfaces located adjacent to exterior entry points (<5 ft away from windows or <br /> exterior doors) <br /> • No observable smoke odor was present. <br /> • Visible smoke related particulate and black staining identified on curtains at the kitchen door. <br /> • No other indications of wildfire smoke impact identified. <br /> • Light to moderate dust deposition was observed on surfaces. <br /> • Unusual corrosion of metal or other materials that could be directly attributed to a fire event was <br /> not observed. <br /> Interior Living Spaces-Further from exterior entry points(> 5ft away from windows or exterior doors) <br /> • No observable smoke odor was present. <br /> • No indications of wildfire smoke impact identified (e.g., smoke related particulate, staining). <br /> • Light to moderate dust deposition was observed on surfaces. <br /> • Generally good housekeeping practices were identified. <br /> • Unusual corrosion of metal or other materials that could be directly attributed to a fire and smoke <br /> event was not observed. <br /> www.forensicanalylical.com Forensic Analytical Consulting Services <br />
