Engine 9'arrived at the mobile home park security gate and could not make access. Engine 9 was eventually able <br /> to access the gate but was delayed. Engine 9 arrived to find heavy fire on the West side of the house.They pulled a <br /> preconnected line and began making a transitional attack. More resources arrived and the fire was extinguished. <br /> Engine 9 Captain Brad Paris did not note anything out of the ordinary. Battalion Chief(BC) Shawn Barnes 4 called for a <br /> Deputy Fire Marshal(OEM)to respond to the scene. <br /> (DEFINE THE PROBLEM) <br /> At 2112 hours I received a page to respond to the fire scene and arrived on the fire scene at 2158 hours. When I <br /> arrived, I was briefed by Battalion Chief Shawn Barnes on the fire, and I proceeded to don my personal protective <br /> equipment(PPE)and photograph the structures exterior. <br /> This-is a-Single Family Residence occupancy classification and Type V-B, Construction in accordance with the 2022 <br /> Oregon Structural Specialty Code. <br /> I began my investigation using a systematic approach per NFPA 921 2021. <br /> (COLLECT&ANALYZE THE DATA) <br /> INITIAL EXTERIOR EXAMINATION— <br /> I started the examination on the east side of the structure and conducted my examination clockwise. <br /> East Side- <br /> The structures east side had no smoke, heat, or fire damage to the structure's exterior. <br /> South Side- <br /> . The structure's south side had no smoke, heat, or fire damage to the structure's exterior. <br /> West Side- <br /> The west side of the structure had heavy fire damage. The damaged patio was approximately 20 wide feet and <br /> connected to the structure before the fire.The patio had collapsed due to fire damage. <br /> Looking at the structures west wall,there was a wide v-pattern' that extended from underneath the patio on both sides <br /> and up to the roof—significant damage to the roof line and throughout the structure's west side.
