AI-070 PJS 11/17/20 01021PJS1 CONTRACTOR RETURNED A PLUGGED EXTENSION
SENSOR CABLE WITH THE ALTAIR 5X GAS DETECTOR.
Plugs were in the extension cable and it's hydrophobic filter but not in
the Altair 5X gas detector.Could not blow out plug in tubing so
replaced tubing and ordered MSA spares.Ordering a 100 foot roll of
generic Teflon tubing and will just swap fittings from now on since •
the material cost of generic Teflon extension tubing is only 14%the
cost of an official MSA extension tube and will work just as
effectively. Since the cost of the tubing is so inexpensive($22 per 25
foot section)there is now no need to sheathe it with the yellow thread
protector mesh.(See W/O 01015PJS1).
AI-071 PJS 6/24/20 00619WJM1 PUMP SOAKED-UP WATER SPRAY, PUMP FAILED. Removed
filters, cells and dried up areas. Purged air system and dried up cell
areas again.Cleaned instrument.
