'` * +t Building Inspection Division
yf , Onsite Septic Review
nio # UBLIO WORKS
Activity Number: 555-24-002152-EVAL Date: August 2,2024
Project Address: 6266 HUNSAKER RD SE
092W16D 00100; 110.85 Acres
Completed By: Matt W. Knudsen, EH-S
ONSITE WASTEWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM SITE EVALUATION
DENIAL
Site Limitations
Relevant site features were evaluated during the site visit on July 16, 2024. The conditions observed during
the site evaluation indicate that the area where the test pits were located did not meet the minimum
standards established by the Department of Environmental Quality. The area evaluated is denied for onsite
wastewater treatment.
Most sites have some limitations that will affect the location or type of wastewater system that may be
installed; however, the test pits that were evaluated on July 16, 2024 are not capable of supporting a
Standard or any type of Alternative septic system due to the following limitations:
Permanent water table is 18" below the surface.
DEQ Rule requirement_
Depth of the Permanent Water Table must be at least 48 inches below the absorption trench for a
standard system, and at least 12 inches below the absorption trench for a sand filter or alternative
treatment technology system under OAR 340-071-0220(1)(b) & OAR 340-071-0290(2)(b). The depth to
permanent water table in the area evaluated is 18"below the surface.
Alternatives—Where to Go From Here
As described above, the soil conditions at this site do not qualify for a subsurface treatment system.
The following options are available:
Holding Tank. If no approvable area can be found, and the property is being used for commercial purposes
that operate with a projected daily sewage flow under 200-gallons,under OAR 340-071-0340(1)(a), a holding
tank is allowed to be installed to serve the facility. A holding tank cannot be used for a residence.
Perform a Winter Water Table Review. Collaborate with Marion County Building Inspection and an
independent onsite consultant to monitor the level of the water table during the wintertime and
demonstrate that the site can be effectively drained. Please see the attached documentation for the
procedure and requirements of winter monitoring.
5155 Silverton Road NE—Salem,Oregon 97305—Phone(503)588-5147'—Fax(503)588-7948
Page 1 of 3
