RE: Proposed major repair permit no. 555-22-002725 at 9953 North Fork Ln SE, <br /> Lyons, OR <br /> ADMINISTRATION <br /> BUILDING Dear Mr. and Mrs. Frith, <br /> INSPECTION <br /> This office has evaluated test pits at the above referenced property for the <br /> EMERGENCY purpose of your major repair application; please see our findings below. <br /> MANAGEMENT <br /> ENGINEERING Approved Area &System Type: <br /> Soil test pits and other site features were evaluated during the site visit on <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL April 5, 2022. Details of the evaluation can be found on the attached soil <br /> SERVICES notes sheet and site map, however, conditions observed during this site <br /> evaluation indicate that the area around the evaluated test hole cannot be <br /> OPERATIONS approved for a STANDARD system due to the following reason(s): <br /> PARKS • Limited Space: <br /> o Due to setbacks to the escarpment, property lines, and <br /> PLANNING existing drainfield,there is not sufficient area to support a <br /> SURVEY standard system meeting the sizing requirements of OAR 340- <br /> 71-0220. Therefore, an Alternative System is required. Specific <br /> siting and sizing requirements can be found on the attached <br /> soil notes form and onsite inspection map. <br /> o It is not clear that the requirements for any type of Alternative <br /> System can be met due to inconsistencies in the submitted <br /> site plan (test pits were dug in an area that conflicts the <br /> proposed house location). <br /> Alternative systems include Sand Filters, Alternative Treatment Technology (ATT) <br /> systems and Recirculating Gravel Filters (RGF). Alternative systems are installed <br /> • <br /> where soil, drainage, water table levels, or space limitations do not allow for a <br /> standard system installation. The unit pre-treats the septic tank effluent before it <br /> is discharged into the ground.
