The garage shall be completely separated from the residence and its <br />attic area by means of 1/Z-inch gypsum board or equivalent applied to <br />the garage side. The door between the garage and residence shall be <br />equipped with solid wood doors not less than i 3/8 inches in thickness <br />or equivalent. (R-209.2) <br /> <br />Elements of appliances which create a glow, spark or flame shall be <br />located a min. of 18 in. above garage floor. (M-1114) <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />Smoke detectors shall be installed outside of each separate sleeping <br />area in the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms and on each additional <br />story of the dwelling including basements. In dwelling units with split <br />levels, a smoke detector need be installed only on the upper level, <br />provided th~ lower level is less than one full story'below the upper <br />level, except that if there is a door between levels then a detector is <br />required on each level. All detectors shall be connected to a sounding <br />device or other detectors to provide, when actuated, an alarm which will <br />be audible in all sleeping areas. (R-215.1) <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />Provide screened attic vents with a net free area of 1/150 of the attic <br />area (or 1/300 if half is along eaves and the other half in the upper <br />portion). (R-707) <br /> <br />12. <br /> <br />Roof trusses are required to be designed by an Oregon registered <br />Engineer or Architect. For trusses manufactured by an approved <br />fabrication plant, have the design and layout drawings available at the <br />construction site for the framing inspection. All job site cutting or <br />modification of the roof trusses shall be clearly shown in the <br />engineer's design calculations and drawings. If trusses are to be built <br />at the job site, submit the engineer's design and construction plans to <br />the Marion County Building Department prior to start of construction and <br />have the approved drawings available at the site for the framing <br />inspection. <br /> <br />Approval as a result of this plan review or an inspection shall not be <br />construed to be an approval of a violation of the provisions of the dwelling <br />code or of other ordinances of the jurisdiction. Reviews or inspections <br />presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of the <br />dwelling code or of other ordinances of the Jurisdiction shall not be valid. <br /> <br />"APPROVED" only when this sheet is attached to plans <br /> <br /> <br />
