(UFC 10.205) <br /> <br />The grade away from foundation wails shall fall a minimum of 6 in. <br />within the first 10 ft., except as restricted by lot lines where tho <br />fall will be a minimum of 6 in. regardless of the horizontal distance <br />available. (R-301.3) <br /> <br />The minimum required stair tread width is 9 inches. The maximum stair <br />rise is 8 1/4 inches. All treads shall have a nosing or effective <br />projection of approximately 1 inch when risers a~e closed. The greatest <br />riser height shall not exceed the smallest by more than 3/8 inch. <br />Headroom shall not bo less than 6 feet 8 inches. (R-213.1) <br /> <br />Open sides of stairs with a total rise of more than 30 inshes above the <br />floor or grade below shall have guardrail. (R-214.1) Guardrail shall <br />be not less than 34 inches in height. Guardrail shall have intermediate <br />rails or ornamental closures which will not allow passage of an object 6 <br />in. or more in diameter. (R-214.2) <br /> <br />Firestopping shall be provided in the following locations: <br /> A) In concealed spaces of stud walls, including furred spaces, <br /> at the coiling and floor level; <br /> $} At all interconnect,one between concealed vertical and <br /> horizontal spaces such as occur at soffits, drop ceilings <br /> etc.; <br /> C) In concealed spaces between stair stringers at the top and <br /> bottom of the run; <br /> D) At openings around vents, pipes ducts, chimneys and <br /> fireplaces at ceiling and floor level, with noncombustible <br /> materials. (R-402.7) <br /> <br />Openings between the garage and residence shall be equipped with solid <br />wood doors not less than i 3/8 inches in thickness or equivalent. <br /> <br />Smoke detectors shall be installed outside of each separate sleeping <br />area in the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms and on each additional <br />story of the dwelling. <br /> <br />"APPROVED" only when this sheet is attached to plans <br /> <br /> <br />
