SAND PILTER SYSTEM CONSTEUCTION DETAIL SHEET November 30, 1992 APPLICANT: SITE NUMBER: KENNETE ALLEN 92-3~02 REPLACEMENT SYSTEM Your site has been found suitable for a SAND FILTER ALTERNATIV~ SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM. The following construction specifications shall apply to the installation of your septic system. The septic tank shall have a minimum liquid capacity of 1000 gallons. The projected daily sewage flow for this project is calculated at 450 qallons per day. Eased on soil conditions observed on this site, the disposal field will be sized at 45 lineal, feet per 150 ~allons of projected daily sewage flow. A minimum of 135 lineal feet of disposal field will be required for your proposed develop- ment. The disposal trenches are constructed two (2) feet wide and on minimum ten (10) foot centers and with no lane exceeding 125 feet in length. The trenches and perforated pipe are installed level (Zl") and contoured to follow the natural ground surface. The disposal field shall be constructed with equal distribution with a minimum trench depth of 18 inches and a maximum trench depth of 18 inche~. There mus~ be at l~ast 6 i~ches of backfill over the top of the gravel, measured from the natural ground surface. The sand filter system shall be designed and operated as per OAR 340-71-290 through 340-71-305. Detailed plans for the system must be submitted prior to permit issuance. A building permit is required if a site built concrete box is used as the sand filter container. A pamphlet is available in our office which details the requirements for a sand filter system. An effluent lift pump may be necessary to construct the disposal field in the approved area and at the correct depth. This approval is site specific to the area tested and the septic system must be located in the i~mediate area of the test pits unless otherwise autho- rized by this office. A new site evaluation may be required if the system is proposed for a different area on the property.
