(M-1114 & NEC Article 500) <br /> <br />Smoke detectors shall be installed outside of each separate sleeping <br />area in the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms and on each additional <br />story of the dwelling. Ail detectors shall be connected to a sounding <br />device or other detectors to provider when actuated, an alarm which will <br />be audible in all sleeping areas. (R-215.1) <br /> <br />Provide screened attic vents with a net free area of 1/150 of the attic <br />area (or 1/300 ~f half is along eaves and the other half in the upper <br />portion). (R-707) <br /> <br />A readily accessible attic access shall be provided to any attic area <br />having a clear height of over 30 inches. A framed opening not less than <br />22 in. by 30 in. is required.
