It is the designer's responsibility to size all structural <br />members and fasteners for the appropriate loads and then show them on <br />the plans. (R-110) <br /> <br />Approved numbers Or addresses shall be placed on all buildings in such a <br />position as to be plainly visible and legible from the street or road <br />fronting the property. (UFC 10.208) <br /> <br />The grade away from foundation walls shall fall a minimum of 6 in. <br />within the first 10 ft., except as restricted by lot lines where the <br />fall will be a minimum of 6 in. regardless of the horizontal distance <br />available. (R-301.3) <br /> <br />Footings sec~iions: 12 in. wide - 1 story; 15 in.- 2 story, 18 in. 3 <br />story. Footings shall extend not less than 12 in. below the finish <br />natural grade. (R-303) <br /> <br />Foundation walls shall extend at least 8 in. above the finished grade to <br />the foundation at all points. (R-304.2) (6 in. where pressure treated <br />sill plates are used.) <br /> <br />The structural supports for decks, balconies, porches or similar <br />structures shall be pressure-treated wood to protect against decay. <br />(R-308.1) <br /> <br />Provide an access crawl hole to the underfloor space. The minimum size <br />opening required is 18 inches by 24 inches. (R-309.2) <br /> <br />Stairways shall not be less than 3 feet in clear width and the headroom <br />shall not be less than 6 feet 8 inches. The minimum required stair <br />tread width is 9 inches. The maximum stair rise is 8 1/4 inches. Ail <br />treads shall have a nosing or effective projection of approximately 1 <br />inch when risers are closed. The greatest riser height shall not exceed <br />the smallest by more than 3/8 inch. (R-213.1) <br /> <br />Handrails meeting the following requirements shall be provided on at <br />least one side of stairways. The handgrip portion of handrails shall be <br />not more than 2 5/8 inches in cross-sectional dimension, or the shape <br />shall provide an equivalent gripping surface. Handrails shall be <br />mounted between a minimum of 30 inches and a maximum of 38 inches. They <br /> <br />"APPROVED" only when this sheet is attached to plans <br /> <br /> <br />
