This review is not intended to prohibit the building
inspector from requesting an evaluation of the acceptability of existing
structural members that may appear to be unsafe. Existing construction
not specifically detailed in the submitted plans and structural
calculations is beyond the scope of this review.

A copy of approved plans when required by the building official shall be
kept on the site of the building or work at the time of inspection. (R-303)

Foundation walls shall extend at least 8 in. above the finished grade to
the foundation at all points. (R-304.2) (6 in. where pressure treated
sill plates are used.)

Foundation plates shall be bolted to the foundation with minimum
1/2 inch diameter by 10 inch anchor bolts embedded at least 7 inches
into concrete or reinforced masonry and spaced not more than 6 feet
apart with a minimum of 2 bolts per piece with one bolt within 12 inches
of the end of each piece. There
are nine equal paths to choose from for compliance with this code. Each
path has its own individual construction requirements which you need to
comply with to use that particular path. Compliance with the Base Path
~1 requires R-25 insulation in the floor, R-21 insulation in the walls,
R-38 insulation in flat ceiling areas and R-30 insulstiTn in the vaulted
ceiling areas.
