(R-209.2) <br /> <br />Heating and cooling appliances located in a garage shall be protected <br />from impact by automobiles. Appliances that generate a glow, spark of <br />flame capable of igniting gasoline vapors located in a garage shall be <br />installed with burners, burner ignition devices or heating elements and <br />switches at least 18 inch~s above the floor level. (M-1006.3) <br /> <br />12. <br /> <br />Smoke detectors shall be in,tailed outside of each separate sleeping <br />area in the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms and on each additional <br />story of the dwelling including basements. In dwelling units with split <br />levels, a smoke detector need be installed only o~ the upper level, <br />provided the lower level is less than one full story below the upper <br />level, except that if there is a door between levels then a detector is <br />required on each level. All detectors shall be interconnected such that <br />the actuation of one alarm will actuate all the alarms in the individual <br />unit and shall provide an alarm which will be audible in all sleeping <br />areas. (R-215.1) <br /> <br />No insulation in the ceilings is noted on the plans. Provide R-38 <br />insulation in flat ceilings and R-30 insulation in vaulted ceilings. <br /> <br />Provide screened attic vents with a ne~ free area of 1/1~0 of the attic <br />area (or 1/300 if half is along eaves and the other half in the upper <br />portion). (R-707) <br /> <br />A readily accessible attic access shall be provided to any attic area <br />having a clear height of over 30 inches. A framed opening not less than <br />22 in. by 30 in. is required. (R-708) <br /> <br />Roof trusses are required to be designed by an Oregon registered <br />Engineer o~ Architect. For trusses manufactured by an approved <br />fabrication plant, have the design and layout drawings available at the <br />construction site for the framing inspection. All job site cutting or <br />modification of the roof trusses shall be clearly shown in the <br />engineer's design calculations and drawings. If trusses are to b~ built <br />at the job site, submit the engineer's design and construction plans to <br />the Marion County Building Department prior to start of construction and <br />have the approved drawings available at the site for the framing <br />inspection. <br /> <br />Approval as a r~sult of this plan review or an inspection shall not be <br />construed to be an approval of a violation of the provisions of the dwelling <br />code or of other ordinances of the jurisdiction.
