Handles, pulls, latches, locks and other operating devices on doors, <br /> windows, cabinets, plumbing fixtures and storage facilities shall have <br /> lever or other shape permitting operation by wrist or arm pressure and <br /> not requiring tight grasping, pinching or twisting to operate. The <br /> force required to activate such equipment shall be no greater than 5 <br /> pounds-force. Doors shall comply with Section 3304 of the 1991 U.B.C. <br /> (3109(c)} <br /> <br />23. Buildings which require that toilet facilities be provided shall have at <br /> least one standard accessible facility with an accessible water closet <br /> and an accessible lavatory. An attic access opening shall be provided to attics of buildings with <br /> combustible ceiling or roof construction where the maximum attic height <br /> is more than 30 inches. The opening shall be located in a Corridor, <br /> hallway or other readily accessible location. Provide an attic access <br /> opening not less than 22 inches by 30 inches. Thirty-inch minimum clear <br /> head room shall be provided above the access opening. (3205(a)) <br /> <br />29. Enclosed attics and enclosed rafter spaces formed where ceilings are <br /> applied directly to the underside of roof rafters shall have cross <br /> ventilation for each separate space. The net free ventilating area <br /> shall be not less than 1/150 of the area of the space ventilated. <br /> (3205(c)) <br /> <br />30. Approved numbers or addresses shall be provided for all new buildings in <br /> such a position as to be plainly visible and legible from the street or <br /> road fronting the property. A water supply sufficient to control a potential fire is required. See <br /> Appendix III-A of the Uniform Fire code. Contact the local fire <br /> department for requirements.
