(3101) <br /> <br />Accessible routes shall be provided between buildings and accessible <br />site facilities (accessible parking spaces) in compliance with Chapter <br />31 of the Oregon Structural Specialty Code. The accessible route shall <br />be the most practical direct route between accessible building entries, <br />accessible site facilities and the accessible entry to the site. An <br />accessible route shall connect to the public right-of-way. <br /> <br />Accessible parking facilities shall be provided, constructed, marked, <br />signed, and maintained as required by Section 3104. See Table NO. 31-A <br />for the number of spaces required. <br /> <br />One in every eight accessible spaces, but not less than one, shall be <br />served by an access aisle 96 inches wide minimum and shall be designated <br />van accessible. The vertical clearance at such van spaces shall be 98 <br />inches. All such spaces may be grouped on one level of a parking <br />structure. <br /> <br />Accessible parking spaces shall be located on the shortest practical <br />accessible route to an accessible building entry. Wherever practical, <br />the accessible route shall not cross lanes of vehicular traffic. Where <br />crossing traffic lanes is necessary, the route shall be a designated <br />marked crossing with detectable warnings at each entrance to crossing <br />lanes of vehicular traffic. (3104(d)) <br /> <br />Parking spaces for disabled people shall be at least nine feet wide and <br />shall have an adjacent eight foot van access aisle (six foot minimum <br />where other required van accessible aisles provided). The aisle shall <br />be located on the passenger side of the parking space except that two <br />adjacent parking spaces may share an aisle. NO ramp may extend into the <br />parking space or the aisle. The aisle shall have a running slope no <br />greater than 1 vertical in 50 horizontal. Parking spaces and access <br />aisles shall be firm, stable, smooth and slip resistant. (3104(g)) <br /> <br />A sign shall be posted for each accessible parking space. The sign <br />~hall be clearly visible to a person parking in the space and ma~k~d <br />with the international symbol of accessibility; indicate that the spaces <br />are reserved for persons with disabled person parking permits; and be <br />designed to standards adopted by the Oregon Transportation Commission. <br /> <br />The pavement of each accessible parking space shall be clearly marked <br />with the international symbol of accessibility to standards adopted by <br />the Oregon Transportation Commission. (3104(h)1 & 2) <br /> <br />NO ramp may extend into an accessible parking space or the adjacent <br />access aisle, and curb cuts and ramps may not be situated so they could <br />be blocked by a legally parked vehicle. (3104{i)) <br /> <br />Doors shall be capable of opening so that the clear width of the opening <br />is not less than 32 inches. (3109(i)(2)) <br /> <br />There shall be a floor or landing on each side of a door. When access <br />for persons with disabilities is required by chapter 31, the floor or <br />landing shall not be more than 1/2 inch lower than the threshold of the <br /> <br /> <br />
