The <br />separation shall be on the Tool Storage area side of the wall. <br /> <br />Smoke detectors shall be installed outside of each separate sleeping <br />area in the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms and on each additional <br />story of the dwelling including basements. In dwelling units with split <br />levels, a smoke detector need be installed only on the upper level, <br />provided the lower level is less than one full story below the upper <br />level, except that if there is a door between levels then a detector is <br />required on each level. Ail detectors shall be interconnected such that <br />the actuation of one alarm will actuate all the alarms in the individual <br />unit-and shall provide an alarm which will be audible in all sleeping <br />areas. <br /> <br />Bathrooms shall be provided with artificial light and an approved <br />mechanical ventilation system capable of producing a change of air every <br />12 minutes or a window of not less than 3 sq. ft., one-half of which <br />must be openable. (R-203.3) <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />An alternate shearwall design is detailed on the plans for compliance <br />with the lateral wall bracing requirements. <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />Masonry chimneys shall be provided with vertical and horizontal <br />reinforcing as per Table R-903.1. Masonry fireplace construction is to <br />comply with Section R-903 of the dwelling code. <br /> <br />12. <br /> <br />Masonry chimneys shall be supported on foundations of solid masonry or <br />concrete at least 12 inches thick and at least 6 inches beyond each side <br />of the exterior dimensions of the chimney. The bottom of footings shall <br />be on natural undisturbed earth below frostline or a minimum of 12 <br />inches below grade. The <br />plans were not reviewed for portions of the dwelling being used for any other <br />use (ie: wood working shop, assembly area, etc.). <br /> <br />Approval as a result of this plan review Or an inspection shall not be <br />construed to be an approval of a violation of the provisions of the dwelling <br />code or of other ordinances of the jurisdiction.
