EX499 1 March 2,2007 <br /> 06NK23629 <br /> Samples from the test commodity were taken to determine the approximate moisture <br /> content. The samples were initially weighed,then placed in an oven at 220°F for <br /> approximately 36 hours, after which,they were weighed again. The moisture content for <br /> the commodity used in Tests 1 and 2 is presented in Table 2. <br /> Table 2.Moisture Content of Class III Commodity <br /> Test Item Moisture Content <br /> 1 Box 8.0% <br /> Cup 7.0% <br /> 2 Box 7.0^/ <br /> 2 Cup 6.2% <br /> 2.3 Rack Storage Arrangements <br /> The rack storage arrangements for Tests I and 2 were identical, The main array consisted <br /> of industrial racks utilizing steel upright and steel beam construction. The 36 in. wide <br /> rack members were arranged to provide a double-row main racks with four 96 in.bays. <br /> Beam tops were positioned in the racks at vertical tier heights in 60 in. increments above <br /> the floor.The geometric center of the double row rack was positioned under four <br /> sprinklers in the center of the test room, as shown in Figure 4. The main storage array <br /> j was loaded with the standard test commodity as described in Section 2.2 to provide a <br /> V nominal 6 in. wide longitudina] and transverse flue spaces throughout the test array. <br /> The target arrays for Tests 1 and 2 consisted of industrial, single-row rack utilizing steel <br /> upright and steel beam construction. The 36 in. wide rack system was arranged to <br /> provide a single-row target rack with three 96 in.bays. Beam tops were positioned in the <br /> racks at vertical tier heights in 60 in. increments above the floor. Again,the target <br /> storage array was loaded with the standard test commodity as described in Section 2.2. <br /> The target racks were positioned across an 8 ft. aisle space from the main array on two <br /> sides, as measured from carton to carton. <br /> In Tests I and 2,the main and target array racks were approximately 38 ft. tall and <br /> consisted of eight vertical bays. The overall storage height was 39 f3. 1 in.,nominally 40 <br /> ft. The movable ceiling height was set at 48 ft. The layout of racks and pallet loads can <br /> be seen in Figure 4 through Figure 7. <br /> 3 <br />
