PAGE 6 <br /> <br />30. EVERY SLEEPING ROOM shall have at least one openable <br />window or exterior door approved for emergency egress or <br />rescue. The window sill height shall not be more than 44 <br />inches above the floor. The minimum net clear opening <br />is 5.7 square feet. The minimum net clear opening height <br />shall be 22 inches. The minimum net clear opening width <br />shall be 20 inches. Exception: Grade floor windows may <br />have a minimum net clear opening of 5 square feet. <br /> [Sec. 310.2, 310.2.1] <br /> <br />31. SMOKE DETECTORS/ALTERATIONS. When alterations <br />repairs or additions are made to an existing dwelling, <br />the entire building shall be provided with smoke detec- <br />tors located as required for new dwellings. The smoke <br />detectors are not required to be interconnected unless <br />other remodeling considerations require removal of the <br />appropriate wall and ceiling coverings to facilitate <br />interconnecting wiring. [Sec. 316.1.1] <br /> <br />32. SMOKE DETECTORS shall be installed in each sleeping <br />room, outside of each separate sleeping area in the <br />immediate vicinity of the bedrooms and on each additional <br />story of the dwelling including basements. All detectors <br />shall be interconnected such that the actuation of one <br />alarm will actuate all the alarms in the individual unit <br />and shall provide an alarm which will be audible in all <br />sleeping areas. Smoke detectors shall be 110 volt with <br />battery back-up. [Sec. 316.1] <br /> <br />33. HUD LABELS. The Building Codes Division has advised <br />Marion County that the HUD labels need to be retained on <br />the structure in a visual location. The two HUD tags on <br />the rear of the existing manufactured home need to be <br />removed and reinstalled as noted on the plans. <br /> <br /> <br />
