PAGE 5 <br /> <br />23. NEW SUPPORT COLUMNS. There are two NEW support <br />columns near the marriage line supporting the new glulams <br />for the new vaulted ceiling in the living room. Provide <br />blocking in the floor at these columns and provide <br />bearing underneath the floor down to the two NEW 2'-6" <br />square x 10" deep reinforced concrete footings with 3 - <br />#4 rebar ran each way with 3" clear at sides and bottom. <br />The existing floor framing and steel outrigger of the <br />steel chassis are not designed for additional point <br />loads. <br /> <br />24. RIDGE BEAM. Provide a 4x8 DF #2 ridge beam at the <br />8'-0" wide addition as the rear of the manufactured home <br />if this area is vaulted as noted on the plans. Provide <br />an independant column and footing support for the beam <br />adjacant to the manufactured home. The beam can not be <br />supported on the manufactured home. <br /> <br />25. RAFTERS. The 2x8 rafters noted on the plans at the <br />8'-0" wide addition at the rear of the manufactured home <br />does not allow enough depth for R-38 batt insultion. <br />Rigid insulation with a R-value of 38 is acceptable. <br /> <br />26. RAFTERS. 1 7/8" x 10 7/8" TJI joists at 24" o.c. is <br />noted on the plans. There is no 10 7/8" TJI manufactured <br />by Trus Joist McMillan. We can accept 1 7/8" x 11 7/8" <br />TJI/Pro joists at 24" o.c. <br /> <br />27. CEILING INSULATION. Provide a minimum of R-38 <br />insulation in the vaulted ceiling as more than 50 percent <br />of the heated floor area of the completed home will be <br />vaulted. [Table 53-P of Prescriptive Paths for <br />Residential Buildings, 1992 Residential Energy Code] <br /> <br />28. VENTILATION. Provide screened attic vents with a <br />net free area of 1/150 of the attic area. (or 1/300 if <br />between 50 and 80% of required area is ventilators in the <br />upper portion of the attic and located at least 3 feet <br />above eave or cornice vents. As an alternative, install <br />a 1 mil vapor barrier on the warm side of the ceiling. <br />[Sec. 806.2] <br /> <br />29. BATHROOM LIGHT/VENT. Bathrooms, water closet <br />compartments and other similar rooms shall be provided <br />with a window of not less than 3 square feet, one-half of <br />which must be openable, or artificial light and an <br />approved mechanical ventilation system capable of pro- <br />ducing a change of air every 12 minutes.
